Brief
This project involved the creation of a primary bathroom and wellness suite for a health-conscious family in North London. The goal was to move away from the traditional "utility" feel of a bathroom and toward a spa-like environment that feels like a natural extension of the living quarters. We focused on "The Art of the Bath," incorporating original artwork and high-end finishes usually reserved for public rooms. Functional priorities included a curb-less shower for a seamless floor plane and integrated storage that keeps the marble surfaces clutter-free.
Concept
The design concept, "Botanical Sanctuary," is centered on the harmony between stone and greenery. We utilized large-format Calacatta marble for the vanity and flooring, paired with a custom geometric tile inlay in the shower that adds a subtle, mosaic-like texture. Brass hardware in a brushed, "living" finish was selected to age gracefully, adding a touch of warmth to the cool stone.
To bring the outside in, a large Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise) plant was positioned as a living sculpture against the crisp white walls. An oversized, gold-framed circular mirror reflects the natural light from the high-set windows, while a minimalist line-art piece adds a layer of sophisticated, gallery-inspired personality to the space.
